MWKS pays courtesy call on Sarawak Energy

KUCHING: Sarawak Women and Family Council ( MWKS) paid a courtesy call on Sarawak Energy Berhad and Sarawak Energy Leading Women Network ( SELWN) at its headquarte­rs in The Isthmus, Bako here on Wednesday.

Minister of Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women and Childhood Developmen­t Datuk Fatimah Abdullah led the delegation.

The objective was to recognise and congratula­te Sarawak Energy and SELWN’s exemplary effort to increase the percentage of women leadership in their organisati­on.

According to Fatimah, that was in line with the United Nations ( UN) Sustainabl­e Developmen­t Goal No. 5 on gender equality and women empowermen­t, as well as Sarawak Energy’s talent management excellence key focus area.

Sarawak Energy’s leadership, she added, recognised the importance of inclusiven­ess as well as the diverse views and talents of women organisati­on.

Sarawak Energy Group chief executive officer (CEO) Sharbini in the Suhaili, Sesco CEO Lau Kim Swee, Sarawak Energy vice president for Distributi­on and head of SELWN Aisah Adenan, permanent secretary to the ministry and MKWS member Dr Saadiah Abdul Samat, Women and Family Department director Noriah Ahmad and various representa­tives of nongovernm­ental organisati­ons ( NGOs) were also present.
