Courts Malaysia shares Ramadan joy at 20 stores nationwide
KUCHING: Courts Malaysia is sharing the joy of Ramadan by distributing ‘ bubur lambuk’ at selected stores nationwide.
The recent initiative by the country’s leading electrical, IT and furniture retailer, was its gesture of appreciation by giving back to the customers and the communities where it operates in.
Packs of ‘ bubur lambuk’ were given away by Courts employees at 20 stores across Penang, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Kelantan, Pahang, Perak, Johor, Sabah, Sarawak as well as within the Klang Valley.
“We are happy to share the Ramadan festivities together with our Muslim customers and this initiative gives us a wonderful opportunity to wish them Ramadan Mubarak personally and thank them for their support.
“As a retailer committed to providing superior value to our customers, we remain dedicated to contributing to the well-being of the communities around us.
“We’re happy to connect and celebrate with our customers and the local communities as they shop for great deals, while enjoying a favourite Ramadan treat,” said Courts Malaysia country chief operating officer Dolf Posthumus in a press statement.
At Courts Setapak in Klang Valley, customers and members of the community were treated to ‘ bubur lambuk’ prepared by a team of volunteers at the store. Courts employees volunteered side by side with celebrities Nana Mahazan and Hunny Madu, as well as single mothers who were specially invited to join in the cooking and distribution of the porridge.
“I am thrilled to be a part of Courts Malaysia’s Ramadan initiative. It is a wonderful experience to share the festivities with everyone and support Courts community effort,” said Nana.
Hunny remarked: “It’s heartwarming to meet fans and hand out ‘bubur lambuk’ – thanks to Courts for recognising the value of community and bringing people together.”
The Ramadan giveaway has been among many corporate social responsibility ( CSR) initiatives by Courts Malaysia through its Rumah Amal Courts since 2015 programme.
As an organisation that prioritises the welfare of the communities it operates in, Courts continues its ongoing commitment of providing basic household necessities such as furniture and electrical items to the less-fortunate members of the community.
To date, Rumah Amal Courts has contributed over RM700,000 and reached out to 120 community homes nationwide.
