The mission is organised by NTH Global Sdn Bhd, the owner of Nottingheels footwear brand and a participant of MATRADE’s Go- Ex Programme.

“Go- Ex is a programme targeted at export- ready companies or high potential exporting companies and provides customised advisory services, including linking small and medium enterprises with market advisors and marke t linkers to improve their export performance,” said Abu Bakar to reporters yesterday.

He added that Malaysian companies in the footwear industry should leverage MATRADE’s various export development and promotion programmes such as the GoEx to improve their potential as an export champion.

In 2017, Malaysia’s total footwear exports amounted to RM652.7 million.

Singapore is Malaysia’s biggest footwear export market at RM191.5 million or 29.3 per cent of the country’s total footwear exports, followed by United Kingdom ( RM62.2 million) and United Arab Emirates ( RM52.1 million). — Bernama
