Police urge Musa Aman to come forward to assist investigations
KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah police urged former chief minister Tan Sri Musa Aman whose whereabouts are unknown to come forward to facilitate investigations into a police report against him lodged by Sabah Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin.
Sabah police commissioner Datuk Ramli Din said the cooperation from Musa would help expedite the investigations.
“As a leader, he ( Musa) needs to come forward to help complete the investigations, the police will continue probing by referring to the deputy public prosecutor and whatever the decision to be made, we will wait,” he told reporters here yesterday.
He said this after witnessing the handing- over of duties ceremony between Sabah Police Deputy Commissioner Datuk Razaruddin Hussain @ Abd Rasid and Datuk Omar Mammah as well as between state head of Strategic and Technology Resources Department ACP Ramli Sarani and DSP Wong Leong Meng at the Sabah Police contingent headquarters.
On May 19, Juhar lodged a police report against Musa, believed to be for criminal intimidation.
The police report was lodged two days after Musa filed a writ of summons at the High Court here against Juhar and Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal seeking a declaration that he remains as the lawful Sabah chief minister.
Musa was sworn in as Chief Minister of Sabah before Juhar on May 10 after obtaining a simple majority of 31 out of 60 seats in the 14th General Election when two opposition assemblymen declared support for Sabah Barisan Nasional ( BN), which only won 29 seats.
However, two days later, Mohd Shafie was sworn in as the new chief minister when several BN assemblymen switched allegiance to Warisan and its Pakatan Harapan allies, which had also won 29 seats in total.
