PKR Lanang questions sincerity of parties over Sarawak’s rights

-

SIBU: PKR Lanang Division found it strange that the very political parties that had sold Sarawakians out are now trumpeting about getting back the rights of Sarawakians and defending Sarawak’s sovereignty.

Its chairman, Law Hin Ching, told a press conference yesterday that these parties had been in power for so many years, but never seemed to have stood up for Sarawak’s rights as a partner of the Federation of Malaysia.

“Now that the Pakatan Harapan ( PH) has taken over Putrajaya, these parties of the previous Barisan Nasional government have begun to panic,” he suggested.

He said it seemed to him that the BN parties in Sarawak are now banking on the idea of `Sarawak for Sarawakians’ to win the support of the Sarawakians, considering the state election is two to three years away from now.

Law urged Sarawakians to be cautious over this ` false message’ as there is question whether these BN parties are genuinely fighting to get back Sarawak’s rights as enshrined in the Malaysia Agreement 1963 ( MA63).

On the PH government, he said PH was obviously trying its very best to fulfil all the promises it had made in its GE14 manifesto.

“PH Government is doing the cleaning up, tackling corruption and correcting all the maleficence that happened under the previous BN government.

“But this takes time. The people should be patient and give the new government their utmost support,” he urged.

Law also mentioned that he expected punitive actions against those in the previous government who had been involved in corruption and all the wrongdoings.
