KUCHING: Parti Rakyat Sarawak ( PRS) Bukit Assek division chairman Duli Sanggau is urging the party’s Dudong division chairman Sempurai Petrus Ngelai not to meddle in the affair of other divisions.

He said Sempurai should instead mind his own business and not become busy body, commenting on what were happening in other divisions.

Duli was responding to a statement made by Sempurai who rubbished report that over 400 members of PRS Bukit Assek division have left the party.

“He ( Sempurai) has no locus standi to question the decisions of the about 400 members who have expressed their decision to me; that they were leaving the party even though only about 20 members were shown in the photograph,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Duli said Sempurai had never been bothered and had never been involved with Bukit Assek division since it was formed.

Duli also refuted allegation by Sempurai that the secretary of Bukit Assek division was illegal because the replacement was done during the divisional annual general meeting (AGM) in 2017, which was a non- election year.

“Sempurai was not even aware that the particular meeting was in fact an extraordinary general meeting ( EGM) for the division (Bukit Assek), and was chaired by Edwin Banta a political secretary to chief minister, and also a supreme council member of the party.

“If indeed it was wrong to hold the EGM or to replace the division’s secretary, why was it sanctioned by the supreme council and chaired by Edwin, and how can Edwin be wrong,” he argued.

Duli advised Sempurai to just focus on his own division and look after the members well, and make them happy.

“As chairman of Sibu Rural District Council ( SRDC), you better do something to improve the areas under your jurisdiction,” he said.

Duli added that the members’ decision to leave the party was on their own free will because they have lost confidence in the party president Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Masing to lead the party.
