Youth economic development part of state government’s main agenda

SEREMBAN: The development of youth entrepreneurs is part of the state government’s main agenda to ensure that the younger generation will be able to participate in the state’s development.

Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun said he aspired to see youths in the state working together in the creation of a new economy which would generate future employment opportunities.

“The food truck industry offers a huge opportunity for youth entrepreneurs, and I have already asked for the food truck entrepreneurs to be allowed to conduct their business anywhere in the state and not be limited to certain days or the weekends,” he told Bernama in an interview recently.

He said this could help to make the industry more attractive to youth entrepreneurs and create employment opportunities for other youths, adding that the state government was also looking at other things which could help food truck entrepreneurs to grow their business. Meanwhile, Aminuddin said that the government was also taking steps to help the youth entrepeneurs in the agricultural sector.

“I will be talking to the Agriculture Executive Councillor (exco) on ways to help them as we know that they do not have a large business capital,” he said, adding that he would also be talking to the Agriculture Department and the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority to help the youth agriculture entrepreneurs to sell their products. — Bernama
