PPKS/ i-CATS holds events to share Ra­madan joy with res­i­dents

MIRI: Sarawak Skills De­vel­op­ment Cen­tre ( PPKS) / In­ter­na­tional Col­lege of Ad­vanced Tech­nol­ogy (i- CATS) re­cently or­gan­ised two com­mu­nity events as part of its so­cial re­spon­si­bil­ity pro­grammes with res­i­dents around Miri.

Its ‘ Ma­jlis Pen­gag­i­han Bubur Ka­cang’ ( dis­tri­bu­tion of bean por­ridge) and ‘ Pro­gram Tau­tan Kasih Syawal’ were held on the oc­ca­sion of Ra­madan this year.

The pro­grammes aimed to strengthen the re­la­tion­ship be­tween PPKS / ICATS Miri staff and the sur­round­ing com­mu­ni­ties as well as to serve them.

A to­tal of 150 bean por­ridge pack­ets were dis­trib­uted around PPKS / ICATS cam­pus and Lu­tong ar­eas and this pro­gramme was made pos­si­ble with the co­op­er­a­tion of PPKS / ICATS Miri staff.

Mean­while, 13 ‘as­naf’ (re­cip­i­ents of Zakat) fam­i­lies around Tu­dan, Permy­jaya and Lu­tong also re­ceived con­tri­bu­tion to help ease their bur­den dur­ing the Ra­madan month.

Var­i­ous con­tri­bu­tions from PPKS / ICATS Miri staff, in­di­vid­u­als and pri­vate com­pa­nies were dis­trib­uted, led by PPKS / ICATS Miri cam­pus act­ing di­rec­tor Syuhaira Mohd Zain.

Ac­cord­ing to Syuhaira, such pro­grammes will con­tinue to be held in the fu­ture and not just dur­ing Hari Raya but also other cel­e­bra­tions such as Gawai Dayak and Christ­mas.

Mean­while, in­take for July 2018 ses­sion is now open for Diploma in Busi­ness Ad­min­is­tra­tion, Diploma in Plan­ta­tion Man­age­ment and Diploma and Cer­tifi­cate in Elec­tri­cal and Elec­tronic En­gi­neer­ing.

PPKS Miri also of­fers Malaysia Skills Cer­tifi­cate ( SKM) for In­dus­trial Elec­tron­ics, Mecha­tron­ics, Com­puter Sys­tems and Of­fice Man­age­ment for Oc­to­ber 2018 en­try.

Spon­sor­ship and ed­u­ca­tion as­sis­tance from the Skills Ed­u­ca­tion Fund Cor­po­ra­tion ( PTPK) for el­i­gi­ble SKM stu­dents and the Na­tional Higher Ed­u­ca­tion Fund ( PTPTN) loan for aca­demic stu­dents are also avail­able.
