Sedania Innovator reaffirms commitment to help firms in green move

KUCHING: Sedania Innovator Bhd ( Sedania Innovator) reaffirms its commitment to help Malaysian corporations relieve energy cost burden and boost their productivity by transitioning them to become energy sustainable organisations via implementation of green technology (GreenTech) which reduces energy cost.

This is to mitigate the recently implemented Imbalance Cost Pass-Through ( ICPT) surcharge of 1.35 sen per kilowatt per hour (kWh) for non-domestic customers by Malaysia’s Energy Commission (ST) starting on July 1, 2018.

According to chief executive officer Daniel Ruppert in a statement, Sedania GreenTech solutions achieve energy cost savings of 20 to 35 per cent immediately after installation and include an investment- grade energy audit and real-time remote consumption monitoring.

“These energy-saving measures by Sedania have been implemented in Malaysian corporations, including a leading regional bank institution where Sedania has successfully deployed GreenTech in 100 branches nationwide achieving up to 30 per cent cost savings since December 2016.

“Sedania also started to implement GreenTech in multiple buildings nationwide of a major telecommunication corporation targeting an energy cost reduction of 22 per cent equal to RM56 million in savings.”

Sedania’s GreenTech business model of sharing energy cost reductions through Energy Performance Contracts (EPC) enables corporations to immediately see the energy savings in their income statement without the need to raise capital expenditure.

Corporations also benefit from minimal risk of implementing these measures, as Sedania has to fulfil energy savings benchmark as per the EPC before transferring the ownership of the technology.
