RWCB back with more programmes on indigenous arts, handicraft­s

KUCHING: The Rainforest World Crafts Bazaar (RWCB) 2018 is back for its 10th edition at the Rainforest World Music Festival, with even more activities and hands- on experience­s related to local indigenous arts and handicraft­s.

The festival will be taking place at the Sarawak Cultural Village and Damai Central in Santubong from July 13 to 15, according to a Sarawak Tourism Board press statement yesterday.

The RWCB will open its doors from 10.30am to 8.30pm with a number of programmes such as ‘ People of the Land’, ‘ Borneo Bengkel’, ‘ Mouth Organs of Borneo’, along with activities by the Limkokwing Academy of Creativity and Innovation.

The exhibition will be coordinate­d by the makers and musicians of these instrument­s, who will also give short demonstrat­ions on how to make and play the instrument­s as well as tell the lore behind them.

The event is supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture; Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports; and endorsed by Tourism Malaysia with AirAsia as flight partner and Grab as transport partner.

The Limkokwing Academy of Creativity and Innovation is presenting a series of exhibition­s, workshops and performanc­es – displaying everything from architectu­re to fine arts and crafts showcasing youthful creativity.
