RWCB back with more programmes on indigenous arts, handicrafts
KUCHING: The Rainforest World Crafts Bazaar (RWCB) 2018 is back for its 10th edition at the Rainforest World Music Festival, with even more activities and hands- on experiences related to local indigenous arts and handicrafts.
The festival will be taking place at the Sarawak Cultural Village and Damai Central in Santubong from July 13 to 15, according to a Sarawak Tourism Board press statement yesterday.
The RWCB will open its doors from 10.30am to 8.30pm with a number of programmes such as ‘ People of the Land’, ‘ Borneo Bengkel’, ‘ Mouth Organs of Borneo’, along with activities by the Limkokwing Academy of Creativity and Innovation.
The exhibition will be coordinated by the makers and musicians of these instruments, who will also give short demonstrations on how to make and play the instruments as well as tell the lore behind them.
The event is supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture; Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports; and endorsed by Tourism Malaysia with AirAsia as flight partner and Grab as transport partner.
The Limkokwing Academy of Creativity and Innovation is presenting a series of exhibitions, workshops and performances – displaying everything from architecture to fine arts and crafts showcasing youthful creativity.
