District police chief Supt Zulkipli Suhaili said the suspects, aged between 31 and 41, were nabbed during two ‘Ops Lejang’ operations on July 9.

“During inspections of two locations in front of a building at Jalan Tanjung Batu, we recovered two suspiciouslooking motorcycles and found that one had been reported stolen a day earlier, while the other at the end of May this year,” he said.

Zulkipli added that police went on to arrest three local men in connection with the recovery of the two bikes.

“During interrogation, one of the suspects was found to also be involved in housebreaking. Information obtained led to the subsequent arrest of another man and a woman at a f lat complex in Jalan Sultan Iskandar,” he said.

The latter pair is believed to be involved in a housebreaking case in Jalan Sebiew in midMay. Police also recovered a suspected stolen television and a car believed to have been used in the commission of the crime from the flat complex.
