PH delegation calls on Chief Minister

-

KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg received a courtesy call from a Pakatan Harapan ( PH) delegation at his office in the State Legislative Assembly ( DUN) Complex here yesterday.

Led by state DAP deputy chairman Chiew Chiu Sing, the delegation had a brief discussion with Abang Johari on, among other issues, whether the state government would grant minor rural project (MRP) funds to opposition members of the august house.

Chiew, who is Tanjong Batu assemblyman, expressed his hope that the state government would emulate the PH federal government in granting funds for non- PH elected representatives.

When asked if they discussed on how much MRP fund would likely be granted, he said the delegation did touch on the matter but it was the prerogative of the chief minister to disclose the amount.

Also present at the courtesy call was Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.
