SARAWAK government, through the Housing Development Corporation ( HDC), is developing a total of 122 affordable singlestorey terraced houses called ‘ Rumah Mampu Milik’ ( RMM) at Kampung Bunga Rampai in the Batu Kitang constituency.

This was revealed by Assistant Minister of Housing and Public Health Dr Annuar Rapaee in reply to Lo Khere Chiang’s ( SUPP-Batu Kitang) question in the august House yesterday.

“The project is funded by the Sarawak government under 11th Malaysia Plan. To date, the project is 25 per cent completed.”

He said priority of ownership of these RMM units would be the local community who are affected by river bank erosion at Kampung Bunga Rampai.

Responding to a supplementary question, Dr Annuar said the project would be completed on Oct 14 next year.

He said two types of houses were involved in this project, one of which with an area of 700 sq ft comprising two toilets, three bedrooms, a dining room and a living room.

Meanwhile, Assistant Minister of Water Supply Datuk Liwan Lagang said the Sarawak government had planned the second phase of Lubok Antu Rural Water Supply project in Sri Aman Division.

He said the project would resolve the shortage and constant interruption of water supply affecting Engkilili and Skrang areas.

“This project is now at the design stage, and once completed, will benefit 213 households in Engkilili constituency,” said Liwan when responding to a question raised by Dr Johnichal Rayong Ngipa ( UPP-Engkilili).
