Man held for drunk driving during traffic operation

LIMBANG: A motorist was detained after he was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol during a traffic operation conducted by police here recently.

District police chief Supt Mohd Bukhori Saffai said the man held after a breathalys­er test found him to be over the permissibl­e limit.

“In addition, the traffic operation saw a total of 10 summonses issued for various offences such as driving without licence, non- functionin­g brake lights and illegal exhaust modificati­on,” he told the press on Wednesday.

The four-hour operation along Jalan Kubu and Jalan Tarap involved seven traffic police personnel, who inspected a total of 17 vehicles.
