Boulevard Shopping Mall to mark Sarawak Day with ‘recycled replica’ competition
MIRI: Boulevard Shopping Mall here is holding a ‘recycled replica’ competition in conjunction with Sarawak Day on July 22.
The competition, themed Sarawak Landmarks, is being organised in collaboration with Miri City Council and will take place on the third floor of the mall.
According to a spokesperson, the competition is open to all local secondary school students in team entries.
“There is no registration fee. The members of the group must comprise four students and a teacher, with each school able to send more than one team entry with a maximum of five groups.”
During the competition, the participants will be given three hours to produce a replica of a Sarawak landmark using recycled materials.
“The size of the replica must not exceed three feet in length and three feet in width. Participants must bring along their respective recycled materials and stationeries on the competition day.
“Those found to be using non- recycled materials will be automatically disqualified from the competition,” said the spokesperson.
The top three winners will each receive a trophy, hamper and certificate of participation. There will also be five consolation prizes comprising a trophy, hamper and certificate of participation each.
There will also be an additional prize for the team which displays the best teamwork, where each member will receive a hamper and certificate of participation.
