SK Garland receives incentive from Megalanes Sarawak
KUCHING: SK Garland became the first school to be the recipient of the Megalanes Sarawak Schools Incentive Programme at Megalanes Sarawak, E-Mart Batu Kawa on Wednesday.
They are one of the 21 primary and secondary schools taking part in the programme and was the first school to have achieved a 400 attendees record since the programme commenced in January this year.
The incentive was in the form of a set of bowling equipment.
SK Garland was the only school to have sent its pupils for the training every week as a result of the cooperation between the pupils, teacher instructors, parents and Tenpin Bowling Development Programme coach Jerusha Chan.
According to the school’s senior assistant (co- curriculum) Samuel Noeid, the school’s bowling club was set up with the assistance of Megalanes Sarawak and teacher- instructors Nur Nadia Abdullah, Rosbi Sukiang, Pauline Timpai, Stridevi Strimari and Petrus Sigi had 36 members.
“As part of the school’s cocurriculum activities, the club members go to Megalanes Sarawak every Wednesday and Friday afternoons to train.
“We are very thankful to the parents for their cooperation in helping to send them for training and the support from our headmaster Elvan Kim Lai,” he said.
“We would also like to thank the Megalanes Sarawak management for thei r strong support in having our pupils in the Schools Tenpin Bowling Development Programme,” added Samuel.
