‘OOOHA’ e-platform in Mandarin to begin operating July 22

MIRI: The much anticipate­d shopping and business platform, ‘ OOOHA’ e- platform will be officially in use beginning July 22, in conjunctio­n with Sarawak Independen­ce Day.

The platform’s co-founder Erick Chin said the first version of the e- platform will be in Mandarin while the English version will be officially launched on Sept 16.

“People may have asked about time frame, but rest assured that we are offering equal advantage in both Mandarin and English versions.

“The time of launch is different because our first template was designed in Mandarin by programmer­s in China. Thus, it takes us a bit more time to translate everything into English with accurate phrases. We are going through it and making sure that everything is perfect,” said Chin.

OOOHA, he reiterated, will be Sarawak’s first community e- commerce services platform by Qlinks Networks Sdn Bhd.

“This community platform is similar to Lazada, Taobao and Shoppee and it will be managed and maintained by a group of Sarawakian profession­als, offering a complete e- commerce package for online stores with a new channel for sales growth, expansion and developmen­t in the competitiv­e market,” he said.

Chin explains that the platform which is not a mobile applicatio­n, focuses on helping to diversify the existing store to reach out to more customers.

“Our main mission is to promote online business of local entreprene­urs to gain more customers. At the same time, we want to enhance online shopping experience to shop local retail stores by adding in OOOHA user friendly shopping cart capability with embedded maps feature and fast local delivery services.

“These are important to maintain business cash flow within Sarawak and to further strengthen Sarawak’s economic growth,” said Chin.

Some of the best key advantages of OOOHA, he revealed, would be that the platform offers user-friendly product searching capability with features to search for the nearest shop location based on consumers’ current location using google maps navigator, convenient product delivery service for local consumers with product quality assurance and convenient customer service should there be any product which are not satisfacto­ry.

“Compared to other platforms, OOOHA provides advantages to local consumers as there is better visibility in product price comparison between different stores, location and shipping/delivery time.”

Chin added that the platform will include food and beverage, merchandis­e, tourism, public services and community chat room among others.
