Another Fajar grad obtains Dosh Green Book

-

MIRI: Another Fajar International College ( FIC) Diploma of Occupational Safety and Health ( DipOSH) graduate has obtained the Department of Occupational Safety and Health ( Dosh) Green Book.

Alfred Lau Pau Fatt, from Kota Kinabalu, is currently working as a safety and health officer with China Borneo Builders Sdn Bhd in his hometown.

The 26-year- old, who graduated from Fajar in 2014, secured his Yellow Book in the same year and received his Green Book in January.

Fajar’s August 2018 intake is now open for the DipOSH, the only programme with recognition from Dosh in this region.

With Dosh recognition, graduates can register as safety and health officers ( SHOs) with Dosh upon completion with three years’ relevant work experience.

Only OSH graduates with diplomas that are recognised and endorsed by Dosh can register as SHOs.

SHOs wishing to practise in Malaysia must receive Dosh’s approval and be registered.

The Green Book vouches for the credibility of the safety officer, who is duly recognised by the relevant authorities, and also allows the holder to confidently and freely work with both the private and public sectors in Malaysia.

Fajar’s DipOSH is now recognised by Dosh as a qualification for applying for the Yellow Book, which is the mandatory document for those who intend to work as a construction site safety supervisor.

The DipOSH has also secured accreditation and official recognition from the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, United Kingdom ( IOSH- UK), confirming that the diploma meets international standards, whereby the course content has been duly assessed and complies with global academic requirements for OSH.
