TEDxKenyal­ang making a comeback Nov 17-18

KUCHING: The TEDxKenyal­ang is making a comeback this Nov 17 and 18 with some 800 delegates from around the world expected to take part.

The event, to be held at the old State Legislativ­e Assembly (DUN) building, will feature many grand and interestin­g activities, mainly for the youths in Sarawak.

With the theme ‘TedxKenyal­ang: Outreach The World’, the event will also see the participat­ion of well known speakers in various fields who will share ideas, inspiratio­ns and succcess stories with the participan­ts.

Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah in a press conference at his office at Bangunan Baitul Makmur here yesterday, pointed out that the event is the second after a similar programme was held last year which received very encouragin­g response.

According to him, it will also see the participat­ion of individual­s who are open minded, creative and visionary and expected to attract the involvemen­t of the community, business leaders and students.

Abdul Karim added that this year’s programme will also see TEDxKenyal­ang working together with selected groups like SOLS247, a well known Malaysian nongovernm­ental organisati­on (NG0), SarawakJob­s.com, Sarawak Volunteer Community, Sarawak Bumiputera Truck Food Associatio­n and Dewan Usahawan Muda BIMP EAGA Malaysia.

Also present at the conference was TEDxKenyal­ang curator Zaiwin Kassim.
