HONG KONG: Showbiz tabloids here have been totally focused on the supposed imminent wedding between actors Kevin Cheng, 48 and Grace Chan, 27.

The latest hint that the report is true has come from actress Natalie Tong.

But actor Ron Ng, one of Kevin’s closest pals, has indicated that he has not received an invitation.

Newsmen cornered Natalie during an event to get confirmation on the supposed Aug 12 wedding purportedly to be hosted in Bali, and whether Grace is pregnant.

Replied a flustered Natalie: “I don’t know. I’m afraid to ask, since it’s a sensitive topic. I’ll ask three months later.”

Natalie’s next remarks got newsmen excited: She has already taken several days off in August and will be on “standby” when needed.

Since Kevin is seen as a brotherly figure in Natalie’s life, would she be part of the bridal party?

Natalie looked conflicted as she replied: “I don’t know what’s going to happen. Let them take care of it. I’m waiting for them to tell me what to do; I’ll just follow. Since the first day they started

On possible wedding gifts, Natalie said, “If it’s real, I’ll gift them a silver watch, to symbolise eternal love.”

Meanwhile, actor Ron Ng has yet to receive an invitation for the supposed wedding ceremony.

Said Ron: “When they make the announcement I definitely would know, but they really haven’t said anything to me.”

TVB executive Virginia Lok has confirmed that Grace has applied to go on vacation in August. In comments to newsmen, Grace had steadfastly denied that she is pregnant.

Said Virginia: “The vacation is not too long or short – after all it only takes one day to get married.”

She added, “Grace said that she and Kevin will invite me, but Kevin is still not back in Hong Kong yet.”
