Katrina replaces Priyanka, Jackie Shroff joins ‘Bharat’ cast
MUMBAI: Although the news of Priyanka Chopra walking out of Salman Khan- starrer ‘ Bharat' initially has shocked everyone in the know, it has eventually got the film team to go back to their original choice for the movie.
Says a source, “Producers Atul and Alvira Agnihotri share a warm relationship with Katrina Kaif and when this whole mishap happened, they just called her and sorted out her dates. She will play the lead opposite Salman Khan now.”
Kareena Kapoor Khan, as reported, was also in the running; but apparently, she had already given her dates to another film.
“Katrina will join the team September onwards, and before that, she will finish all her other work commitments,” adds the source.
Meanwhile, Jackie Shroff, who is just nine years older than Salman is all set to play Salman's father in the Ali Abbas Zafar directorial. The film is an official Hindi adaptation of the Korean film ‘Ode To My Father' and will encompass a time period of around 63 years.
Says a source, “It's essentially a beautiful story of a father and son, so when Jackie was offered the film, he liked the script and gave his nod.”
While the team is currently shooting in Mumbai, Jackie will join the crew later.
“He will start shooting around end of September,” adds the source.
