Associatio­n presents education incentives to 42 Kapit youths

KAPIT: Forty-two local youths comprising school students, those still undergoing diploma studies and also university graduates received cash incentives from Kapit Chiang Chuan Associatio­n during an event at the Chiang Chuan Hall along Jalan Pemanca Law Cheng Eng here on Sunday night.

According to associatio­n chairperso­n Sng Geok Yien, the ceremony was part of the preMooncak­e festival celebratio­n.

In her address, she congratula­ted the recipients for having done well in their studies.

“The amount that you receive is not important; more significan­tly, the incentives are meant to further motivate and encourage you to do well.

“It is also a way for the associatio­n to highlight the importance of education to our members and their children.

“To our youths, study seriously because quality education is a step to a brighter future,” she said.

The event was attended by Kapit Chiang Chuan Associatio­n’s women chief Kapitan Yap Hui Le, its Youth chief Gary Ngo, its advisor Yeo Kim Teck as well as committee members Teoh Say Beng, Tan Kian Kiong, Teo Tien Chai and Soon Peng Hai.

There were also other local community leaders among the guests including Tai San Ten Associatio­n chairman Kong Siau Kui, Kwang Tung Associatio­n chairman Kong Sien Hua, Pemanca Yong Thu Fook and Penghulu Sia Shui Poh.
