MIRI: The Ministry of Health will look into the issue of extremely long queues at Miri Polyclinic, says Miri member of parliament Dr Michael Teo.

According to him, Minister of Health Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad is committed to resolving the issue.

“Miri has become known, especially with the case of patients going to the polyclinic at 4am to get the number. And initially I could not believe it but when I went to see the situation myself, I see a lot of people suffering just to see a doctor where some had to wake up at 3am to go to the polyclinic,” Dr Teo said during a dinner with heads of departments here on Monday.

“When I told the Minister of Health about it, he was very helpful and was committed to helping in this issue. And thus I need the help of everybody so that we can do our job properly and make Miri a better place for everybody.”

Dr Teo said he looked forward to strategic collaboration with local government agencies to address issues through shared knowledge, mutual understanding, and innovative solutions.

“I see some people in dire need of help, especially those living along the river without water and electricity supplies which will be some of the main issues of concern.

“I hope we will share a common future that is mutually beneficial and I hope for positive outcomes from the collaborative venture as there are many issues that need to be resolved,” he said.
