Six vying for Bintang Kecil RTM Sarawak Zone finals this Saturday
KUCHING: Six Bintang Kecil RTM 2018 fi nalists from Sarawak Zone will come together this Saturday to compete for the opportunity to represent Sarawak at the national Bintang Kecil RTM competition later this year.
The finals will be held at P Ramlee Auditorium, RTM Kuching, starting 8.30pm.
The finalists, aged between 9 and 11, were introduced to the media yesterday. They are Nor Mohamed Muzaid, 11, from Spaoh; Puteri Nurnasuha Yahya, 9, from Kuching; Syayid Afi Jamin, 11, from Kuching; Mayshelly Dviveoly Markury, 11, from Limbang; Eva Chung Jie, 11, from Kuching; and Nurul Ain Nabila Abdul Latip, 10, from Kuching.
According to RTM Television Section senior assistant Erma Kartika Zaini, each finalist will sing one song in Malay and another in English.
“We will select the best three to represent Sarawak at the nationallevel competition, to be held at the Indoor Stadium here on Dec 1.”
They will be accompanied by Kombo D’ Aspirasi RTM Kuching, led by Eugene Suboh.
Current Event assistant news director Marill Chuggat, and secretariat Zainorin Suut were also present at the press conference. Marill said the six fi nalists emerged from a statewide audition in which 119 participants from various ethnic groups attended.
“This year’s competition is in its 32nd year,” he said.
Meanwhile, Zainorin said members of the audience would be allocated a lucky draw ticket for attending the fi nals at RTM Kuching. These tickets will be available at the door.

Bintang Kecil RTM 2018 will be hosted by Anding, and feature performances by guest artistes Camaiellya Edward, who placed third in Bintang Kecil RTM 2017, and singer/ songwriter Asad Motawh.
Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan will be attending on behalf of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.
