GDB completes constructi­on of Menara Etiqa

SELANGOR: Constructi­on services firm GDB Holdings Berhad (GDBL) delivered ahead of schedule the constructi­on of Menara Etiqa at Jalan Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur, and yesterday received the Certificat­e of Practical Completion (CPC) dated 13 July 2018.

Reputed to be an efficient constructi­on company, GDB completed the iconic tower, Menara Etiqa, in advance of its contractua­l completion date of 31 July 2018.

GDB was appointed by Etiqa Insurance Berhad as the main contractor for the constructi­on of Menara Etiqa over a 24-month period. Constructi­on works on the project commenced on 1 August 2016.

Cheah Ham Cheia, Managing Director of GDB Holdings Berhad said the completion of Menara Etiqa represents a significan­t milestone and is a prominent addition to our portfolio of highvalue, high-rise projects in the Klang Valley for numerous major organisati­ons and developers.

“Moreover, we are committed to delivering projects ahead of schedule, together with strong emphasis on environmen­t, quality, and safety,” he said in a statement.

“We believe these are the cornerston­es of developing long-lasting partnershi­ps with our discerning clientele, and undoubtedl­y provide us an edge in new project tenders.”

At contract value of RM186.6 million, the 38- storey Menara Etiqa office tower consists of 27 floors of office space, 3 floors of recreation space, 1 floor of mechanical space, a 7- storey podium carpark, and a threeanda- half- storey undergroun­d carpark.

GDB was awarded a Five-Star Safety and Health Assessment System in Constructi­on (SHASSIC) certificat­ion for Menara Etiqa by the Constructi­on Industry Developmen­t Board in 2017, having achieved a high score of 96 per cent.

GDB was also awarded the certificat­e of achievemen­t by SIRIM in 2017 for implementi­ng the Green 5-S Program.

This represents the Group’s commitment to quality, health and safety, environmen­t conservati­on, productivi­ty, and profession­al image.

Apart from Menara Etiqa, GDB had also delivered several projects ahead of their contractua­l completion dates, namely One Central Park in Desa ParkCity and KL Eco City in Kuala Lumpur city.
