J&T Express ready to serve S’wak customers

KUCHING: Courier and logistics delivery service provider J& T Express officially opened its doors to serve communitie­s across major towns in Sarawak yesterday.

East Malaysia general manager Jing Ming Tao said there are 33 outlets throughout Sarawak including in Sri Aman, Sarikei, Sibu, and Miri, with 15 outlets from here to Serian.

“In fact, we have already started our operations since Aug 1. But we are still new and people are still unfamiliar with our services, so we want to reach out to them,” he said after the official opening ceremony of the J& T Express Sarawak headquarte­rs at Lot 4, Block 1 Saradise.

delivery solutions to customers and businesses, especially ecommerce platforms that are rapidly growing and evolving.”

He said J& T Express has over 200 employees and 11 vehicles in Sarawak to provide pick-up and delivery services.

“There are overall 300 outlets in Malaysia, including Sarawak. Operations in Malaysia and Vietnam kicked off on Aug 1, and the Philippine­s and Thailand are expected sometime in September,” he said.

“We also collaborat­e with Oppo ( Chinese consumer electronic­s and mobile communicat­ion company) and we are still in discussion to partner with major e-commerce platforms.”

Jing said J& T Express will expand its infrastruc­ture to serve a bigger customer base and more cities as the company grows.

“We plan to break into the markets of 10 countries in Southeast Asia in a few years,” he added.

J& T Express was founded in Jakarta, Indonesia on Aug 20, 2015.

It is the number two delivery service company in Indonesia and was recognised as the best express delivery service brand for e- commerce business last September.

The courier and logistics delivery service operates every day and has a 24-hour customer service hotline.
