Fans fret over Fan’s abrupt silence on social media
BEIJING: Fans of top actress Fan Bingbing have been fretting over her sudden silence on social media.
Fan, 36, suddenly stopped posting updates after her final message on June 2 after news emerged that she is being investigated for tax evasion.
Fan, who earned RM174 million last year, is reported to be under police investigations for allegedly signing duplicate public and private agreements that conceal her real earnings to avoid paying tax.
Also being investigated are her teenage brother and several of her employees.
On social media, Fan has more than 62 million followers.
Like Fan, her boyfriend, actor Li Chen, has not updated his Weibo account since July 6.
Both Fan and her brother Fan Chengcheng, 18, have been banned from travelling out of China.
Reports being circulated on social media site Weibo claimed that Fan and her brother have been under investigation since June.
