Great prizes await ‘spicy ramen’ challenge winner

MIRI: Those who love spicy ramen can take part in the ‘Korean Spicy King Challenge’, taking place the Everrise Supermarket in Bintang Megamall Miri from Aug 17 to 19.

The event, organised by Box World Sdn Bhd with support from Everrise Supermarket as sponsor and Bintang Megamall as the venue sponsor, will be featuring Samyang’s spicy ramen, which is known for its fiery flavour – reaching the ‘spiciness scale’ of 8,808 Scoville Heat Units (SHU).

The competition will have seven rounds of semi- finals, in three slots daily – 11am to noon, 3pm to 4pm, and 7pm to 8pm; however on Sunday (Aug 19), the slot will run from 11am to noon.

Challengers who make it through the slots will be able to enter the grand finale on Aug 19, commencing at 2pm.

Shoppers with minimum spending of RM40 in single receipt at Samyang Korea Fair at Everrise Supermarket, Bintang Megamall are eligible to join the challenge.

During the competition, every challenger will receive a plateful of Samyang Extreme Spicy Hot Ramen and the fastest to finish from any of the seven rounds of semi-finals, automatically qualify for the grand finale – where the challenger who finishes all the ramen without regurgitating, will be declared the ‘ Miri Spicy King’.

Prizes worth RM500 including RM300 cash, Samyang’s hamper and certificate await the champion, who also stand the chance to compete with winners from different divisions across Sarawak in the future.

Aside from the challenge, there will be a series of special promotions for Samyang ramen products available throughout the whole weekend (Aug 17-19) with plenty of gifts for Samyang lovers.

One of the highlights would be the ‘Wheel of Fortune’, where with every purchase of RM60 and above in single receipt, shoppers will be entitled to participate in the game to win premium prizes.
