I-CATS offers Accounting Dip, Foundation in Management
The programme prepares graduates for a wide range of positions in the public and private sectors. On completion of their studies, graduates may also further their studies in a range of degree programmes and pursue professional accounting qualification(s).
KUCHING: International College of Advanced Technology Sarawak (i- CATS) recently launched two new programmes namely the Diploma in Accounting and the Foundation in Management in line with its mission to produce qualified and competent workforce through continuous learning and development.
During a ceremony to launch the programmes, Sarawak Skills Development Centre ( PPKS) executive director Hallman Sabri said the two new programmes by i- CATS, a subsidiary company of PPKS, is in line with their the range of industry-relevant programmes.
A press release said during the course of their studies in the two-year Diploma in Accounting programme, in addition to accounting-related subjects, students will take subjects such as Business Communication and Entrepreneurship.

With regard to the one-year Foundation in Management Programme, i- CATS chief executive officer Mohamad Isham Fauzi said: “The programme will equip secondary school leavers with the relevant knowledge and

skills to proceed to undergraduate programmes in Business such as Bachelor’s degree programmes in Accounting, Finance, Management, etc. Indeed, the Foundation programme is a gateway to undergraduate programme at i- CATS and other institutions of higher learning.”
Registration of new students for the August 2018 intake is ongoing until Aug 30. Students who have completed SPM/SPMV with a minimum of three credits including Mathematics and a pass in English are eligible to enter the i- CATS Diploma in Accounting programme.
For the Foundation in Management programme,students who have completed SPM/SPMV with a minimum of five credits and a pass in English are eligible to enter the programme.
For both programmes, applications will also be considered for students who have completed equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian government.
