Shimano Belawai Beach Fishing Competition on October 7
SIBU: The 7th Shimano Belawai Beach Fishing Competition will be held on Oct 7, with Shimano (S) Pte Ltd as its main sponsor.
It is jointly organised by Sibu Fishing Club (SFC) and the Civil Service Recreational and Welfare Club ( Maksak) Tanjung Manis with the support of Oft Pancing Sdn Bhd.
SFC chairman Ting Hua Sing said entry forms may be obtained now at Suria Trading Company here.
Entry fees are RM20 for club members and RM35 for nonmembers. The closing date is Oct 5. Ting said late entries will also be accepted but with entry fee at RM50 for members as well as nonmembers.
The competition is divided into Category A (participants who use Shimano products) and Category B (open).
Ting said winners in Category A may expect additional prizes from Shimano.
For Category A, the first prize is a Bull’s Eyes 9120 (reel) while the second prize is a ULTEGRA C14 14000XSD (reel) and the third, a ULTEGRA 14000XSC (reel).
Also, the top three winners will each walk home with a Shimano Rod Model VEGEANCE 450BXJ.
Other prizes are: 05 Alivio 10000FA (reel) and Forcemaster Surf 500BXG (rod) as fourth prize; Alivio 10000FA and Vengeance Surf 425BXH (rod) – fifth prize; Vengeance surf 425CXH ( rod) – sixth prize; Vengeance Surf 425AXI (rod) – seventh prize; and
Vengeance Surf 425BXI (rod) – eighth, ninth and tenth prizes.
For Category B, the top three winners will bag RM1,000, RM600, and RM300 respectively while the fourth until the 10th placing will each take home RM100.
They will also get a trophy each.
The first 200 to register for the competition will each get a free T-shirt.
Assistant Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Datu Len Talif Salleh will give away the prizes, Ting told reporters at a press conference yesterday.
