Guideline for improvement: PH to continue receiving feedback

-

MIRI: Miri MP Dr Michael Teo said Pakatan Harapan ( PH) has done many good things and solved multiple issues in 100 days since taking over the federal government.

He said the PH government will continue to receive feedback from the people on various issues and this will be used as guideline to make more improvements.

“In general, our achievement is quite good. Unfortunately, we cannot please everyone and we regret that. We cannot make everyone happy,” he said.

Dr Teo was met by reporters after he distributed food and drinks coupons to members of the public at the Old Men Street in Persiaran Kabor here yesterday.

For Miri, Dr Teo said he will make sure that problems of insufficient facilities as well as crowded Health Clinic and Miri Hospital are resolved. He disclosed that he had informed Deputy Health Minister Dr Lee Boon Chye about the problems and wants to bring him to visit Miri to see the problems personally.

Dr Teo who is PKR Miri chief also wants more low cost housing projects to be developed here so that more families from low income group can own a house.

He said he had met with the Minister of Housing and Local Government Zuraida Kamaruddin and requested for Miri to be given priority in the implementation of such projects.

“I met up with Zuraida four times, twice in Kuching and twice in Kuala Lumpur. Zuraida is planning to build 100,000 affordable houses a year throughout the country, and we asked Miri to be given priority,” he said.

Apart from that, Dr Teo will also be meeting with Miri City Council ( MCC) to discuss issues and complaints from the people so that they can handle the matters together.

Touching on Old Men Street, the problem of leaking roofs there will be forwarded to MCC so that repair works can be done.

“I visited this area during the last election and met up with MCC, but until today the roof has not been repaired,” he said.

During the visit yesterday, Dr Teo distributed 300 food and drinks coupons from his service centre to mark 100 days of PH in office after winning the 14th General Election on May 9.

Dr Teo said the coupons were distributed as a thank you gesture from him and PH.
