SMK St Anthony’s anniversar­y 5KM Nite Run attracts 1,299 participan­ts

SARIKEI: A total of 1,299 participan­ts took part in a five-kilometre night run organised in conjunctio­n with SMK St Anthony’s 88th anniversar­y last Saturday.

The event dubbed SAS 88th Anniversar­y 5KM Nite Run attracted students and members of the public including the oldest male participan­t, Yip Sit Sang, 70, and oldest female participan­t, Tan Sai Hong,67.

Kapitan Ling Dien Yong who represente­d Repok assemblyma­n Dato Sri Huang Tiong Sii f lagged off the participan­ts.

The top five finishers in the Men’s category received RM150, RM120, RM100, RM80 and RM50 respective­ly in addition to a certificat­e and medal each. Heading the list was Yong Zim Fei followed by Raymon Tiong, Aaniree Marzuqie Juna’dee, Sia Pik Kiong and Ben Johnny.

Sixth to fifteenth finishers walked home with RM30, a certificat­e and medal each. They are Hu Tiong Ann, Tiong Hua Kwong, Fraklin Wee, Andira Enting, Wuok Hap Hock, Akmalruddi­n Ahmat, Nigel Ling, Daniel Wensian, Doveny Selidap and Sii Lian Ying.

Meanwhile, the first to fifteenth fi nishers in the Women’s category who received similar prize structure were Lee Leh Ha, Luy Nayan, Fung Pik Fong, Esther Pau, Kok Chiew Yieng, Sandy Lau, Mary Jane Dibah, Fion Law, Yong Poh Fong, Joey Ling, Tracy Empina, Andrey Yong and Wong Zi Fen.

Among those present and helping to give away the prizes were school’s principal Vincent Liong, management board chairman Rev. Father James Ting, alumni chairman Eric Ling and ParentsTea­chers Associatio­n chairperso­n Maureen Chua.
