KUCHING: Families with small children can now enjoy some family fun at KidsPlay in Mydin Petra Jaya here.

The recently opened family entertainment outlet provides plenty of fun-filled activities with its modern play area which comes complete with a ball pit, slides, jungle gym and children’s arcade machines that’s guaranteed to keep the little ones entertained for hours.

KidsPlay founder Wong said the ball pit in the play area is currently the largest in Kuching containing around 140,000 plastic balls for children to ‘swim around’.

“We emphasise on cleanliness here at KidsPlay so the ball pit is cleaned and disinfected once a week. On top of that, children who enter the play area are also given free socks for hygiene purposes.

“Each child will be charged RM10 for a two-hour session which comes with the complimentary socks as well as five tokens to play the children’s arcade machines including the children’s virtual reality ( VR) game,” he said, adding that adults accompanying the child will be charged RM3 per person.

Apart from that, he pointed out that there is also a huge selection of electric vehicles for both children and adults to cruise around the shopping mall.

“We have mini sports cars and sports bikes and even tanks which both the parent and child can enjoy.”

Another highlight at KidsPlay is none other than the adult VR machine, which Wong believes is the first to be available in Sarawak.

“The VR machine consists of many games of various genres such as adventure, racing, terror, disaster, war, education and so on.

“The player will be strapped to the machine, which is also an active motion platform that moves around while the player navigates around the game through the VR headset,” he explained.

To play, he said each player is charged only RM10 per game.

“But we also give a great discount for members who pay only RM6 per game,” he said, noting that it only costs RM5 to become a lifetime member.

KidsPlay is located on the first floor of Mydin Petra Jaya and opens daily from 10am to 10pm.
