DAM to hold Ngajat, Betaboh competitions

MIRI: Dayak Association Miri ( DAM) will be holding the Ngajat ( Iban traditional dance) and Betaboh ( Iban traditional music) competitions on Oct 20 at Imperial Mall here, from10am to 6pm.

For the Ngajat competition, there will be three categories – Group, Individual ( Adult) and Individual ( Children) while there will be only one category for the Betaboh competition.

For the Ngajat Group category, the champion team will walk away with RM2,000 while the second and third place winners will receive RM1,500 and RM1,000 respectively.

For the Ngajat Individual ( Adult) category, the championship prize is RM700 followed by RM500 for second place and RM300 for the third place winner.

In the Ngajat Individual ( Children) category, the first prize is RM500 while the second and third place winners will take home RM300 and RM200 respectively.

The top three winners in all three Ngajat categories will also receive a trophy and certificate each.

For the Betaboh competition, the champion will receive RM2,000 while the second place winner will take home RM1,500 and RM1,000 will be given to the third place winner.

All top three winners will also receive a trophy and certificate each.

The other finalists in both the Ngajat and Betaboh competitions will receive a consolation prize of RM100 each, along with a certificate of participation.
