PH victory in GE14 ‘biggest political miracle’ in country — Baru

-

LIMBANG: Works Minister Baru Bian considers Pakatan Harapan ( PH)’s surprise victory in the recent 14th general election (GE14) as ‘ the biggest miracle in politics in the country’.

According to him, it proves that the people have confidence in the struggle and fight for justice under the PH-led federal government for the good of the country and Malaysians in general.

Baru, who is Selangau MP and Ba Kelalan assemblyman, points out that the struggle for a New Malaysia has started and there is much to be done.

“In this journey and struggle, we will be challenged again from both inside and out.

“But we must be clear with our struggle as only then can we succeed,” he said during the meetthe-people session conducted by Parti Keadilan Rakyat ( PKR) branch here recently.

He added that many policies of the previous government deemed unfair, would be changed under the PH government.

“The people can choose political parties not based on race or friends but possibly on the basis of the politics practised,” he said, adding that as for him, this is a healthy and good development for the people.

In this respect, Baru said PKR would not block Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia ( Bersatu) from Peninsular Malaysia to contest in the Sarawak state election.

“We cannot block any party coming to Sarawak. However, we will discuss with Bersatu if they want to contest in the PKR seats in the next state polls,” he said.

Also present were PKR Limbang advisor Dr Lau Liak Koi, PKR Sarawak supreme council member Dr Ricardo Baba, PKR Limbang chief Edward Bulot and its deputy chief Masanal @ Nasir Akit.
