Socso Sarawak praised for upholding customer-friendline­ss

KUCHING: The Social Security Organisati­on ( Socso) Sarawak has been praised for its customerfr­iendly approach.

Deputy Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Chong Chieng Jen gave the praise during a visit to Socso Sarawak office at Jalan Padungan here recently.

On hand to welcome Chong and his entourage was Socso Sarawak director Phillip Sangkan.

Adding on Chong, who is Stampin MP and Kota Sentosa assemblyma­n, also called upon the organisati­on to keep this up.

The visitors also comprised Mas Gading MP Mordi Bimol, Padungan assemblyma­n Wong King Wei, Pelawan assemblyma­n David Wong Kee Woan, Bukit Assek assemblywo­man Irene Mary Chang Oi Ling and Pujut assemblyma­n Dr Ting Tiong Choon. The delegates were briefed on the functions, roles and services provided by Socso, as well as on the activities run by organisati­on’s ‘Skuad Prihatin’.

In his remarks, Phillip expressed his hope that the meeting would pave the way for further cooperatio­n between the elected representa­tives and Socso offices across Sarawak.

Meanwhile, David and Dr Ting stated their willingnes­s to assist Socso in promoting the SelfEmploy­ment Social Security Act 2017 (Act 789).

Earlier, Chong and Mordi were on hand to present cheques to three aid scheme recipients – Sharul Abdullah, Lobbie Boing and Douglas Phillip.
