Dr Ting not happy Sarawak PH reps not given funding

-

MIRI: Pujut assemblyman Dr Ting Tiong Choon has claimed that the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government is penalising Pakatan Harapan (PH) assemblymen in the state by not providing them with any funding.

“Each GPS state member gets RM7.25 million allocation and GPS MPs are getting more than that because they are getting RM7.25 million from the GPS government and another RM300,000 from the PH federal government.

“But PH Sarawak assemblymen do not get any chunk of the (GPS) allocation,” he told reporters after the Democratic Action Party (DAP) Miri- Senadin annual general meeting (AGM) on Saturday.

According to Dr Ting, PH assemblymen here would continue to fight for the allocation as they felt that they were cheated in not bringing up the matter during the last assembly sitting.

“So we will continue to fight for this, we will bring this matter up in the next DUN sitting,” said Ting.

Ting said the matter was not brought up in July DUN sitting as they ( PH assemblypersons) were being made to believe that the Chief Minister would provide some funding before the DUN Sitting in July.

“But on the last day he did not provide any. To us, we feel that he deliberately did that in order for us not to bring up the topic regarding funding in DUN.

“We can assure them, we will bring up the matter in next DUN sitting which will be in November,” he said.
