SIBU: All Lions Clubs members have been urged to contribute towards ensuring the success of Lions Clubs International ( LCI) and Lions Clubs International Foundation ( LCIF) goals.

LCI District 308-A2 governor Tiong Yong Tiing said Lions Clubs International ( LCI) has developed a five-year strategic plan, LCI Forward.

“It is our blueprint for driving Lions forward into the future, setting an ambitious goal of serving 200 million people per year by 2021.

“The reinforcement of new structure of the Global Action Team will further enable us to expand on our motto ‘We Serve’,” he said during the Lions Club of Sibu Central installation banquet held at a hotel here on Sunday.

The Chairman of Zone 5 LCI for Region 2 Kevin Lau and the president of Lions Club of Sibu Central Edmond Wong were among those present.

According to Tiong, the LCIF would be further integrated in supporting life- changing work of the members, serving some of the most vulnerable people in the neediest places on earth.

“So far, LCIF has reached an incredible milestone of funding over US$ 1 billion in grants,” he said.

He also called on them to work closely to ensure all actions were met to achieve planned goals.

“Our District 308-A2 has our own set of goals and action plans to achieve which are set to run in parallel with the LCI goals.

“The ultimate successes of our district and LCI depend very significantly on the support and participation of all the chartered Lions Clubs members,” he said.
