Over 2,000 participan­ts to vie for prizes at BP Run

SIBU: The 2018 edition of the BP Run to take place at Sibu Town Square tomorrow will see over 2,000 participan­ts vying for various prizes while having fun in the five- category event.

See Hua Group’s board of directors secretary Temenggong Dato Vincent Lau Lee Ming will flag off the runners at 6.45am, witnessed by among others the event organising chairman Kueh Nguan Seng and Sibu Municipal Council’s deputy chairperso­n Rogayah Jamain.

A 30-minute aerobic exercise led by Super Jane Fitness and Dance Studio representa­tives will be held prior to the flag- off ceremony.

Meanwhile, those who have yet to collect their race kit comprising BP Run T- shirt, face towel and Wanfa My Fish Chips (75gm), may collect them today at Wisma See Hua in Tuanku Osman Road. Participan­ts need to show their registrati­on receipt to facilitate collection of the race kit.

The five categories to be competed are 10-km Men’s and Ladies’ Open, Boys’ and Girls’ Junior and the 5-km Fun Run.

Prizes in the Men’s and Women’s Open are RM300 for the champion, RM250 for the first runner-up, RM200 for the second runner-up, RM150 for the third runner-up and RM100 for the fourth runner-up.

The sixth to 20th place winners will each receive RM30 consolatio­n prize.

For the Boys’ and Girls’ Junior, the top five winners will get RM250, RM200, RM150, RM100 and RM50 respective­ly while the sixth to 50th will receive RM20 each as consolatio­n prize.

The Fun Run champion will get RM150 while the first runner-up will bag RM120 and the second runner-up, RM100.

The fourth placing will receive RM80 while the fifth placing RM60.

The sixth to 120th placings will each get RM20.

All winners will also get a medal each while all finishers except those in the Fun Run category will receive a certificat­e of participat­ion.
