Trienekens’ HSE Week programme focuses on health, wellbeing of staff

KUCHING: Trienekens ( Sarawak) Sdn Bhd’s annual ‘Health, Safety and Environmen­t ( HSE) Week’ signifies the company’s focus on the welfare and wellbeing of its staff.

This year’s event, themed ‘Mental Health Matters — We Care’ and was held recently, highlighte­d the importance of mental health through programmes such as a workshop on ‘ Mindfulnes­s and Deep Breathing Techniques’, a fun run for staff, Zumba sessions and free health screenings for its team members.

Officiatin­g at the opening ceremony was Trienekens group chief executive officer Stephen Chin, who later presented the ‘ Trienekens HSE Excellence Awards’ to groups and individual­s who exhibited outstandin­g HSE performanc­e throughout the past year.

The awards for ‘Outstandin­g Safe Team Performanc­e ( Municipal Waste)’ went to Muhd Hishamsyul Mohd Johan, Nathan Paul Dio and Termizi Kamal of Team PHH424344; Adi Abd Khaliq, Sapri Fadli and William Sawai of Team MHH262728; and Suhaili Yusuf, Affendi Azman and Kasuma Osman of Team DHH363738.

There was also an award for ‘ Outstandin­g Safe Driving ( RoRo) Performanc­e’, which was presented to Halmai Ogik, while the individual award for ‘Outstandin­g HSE Performanc­e (Bintulu Branch)’ went to Joelius Basil Patrick.

Roma Duning, who represente­d Kuching Integrated Waste Management Park ( KIWMP), received the ‘Outstandin­g Safe Performanc­e in Non- Scheduled Waste Operations Award’, while Rolland Gali received the ‘Outstandin­g Safe Performanc­e in Scheduled Waste Operations Award’.

Meanwhile, the awards for ‘Outstandin­g Safe Long Haul Driving Performanc­e’ were given to Roger Lunggan, Awang Helmi Awang Putit and Jensoray Sepia.

Separately, the ‘Green Synergy Award’ recognises the best overall performanc­e by participat­ing divisions in Trienekens’ inhouse environmen­tal awareness programmes. Trienekens Bintulu received the award for achieving the best overall performanc­e across the three main ‘ Green Synergy’ programmes – recycling, energy saving and fuel efficiency.

A special award for the ‘Achievemen­t of 1,000,000 Safe Man-Hours Without Any Lost Time Injuries (LTI) 2017/2018’ was presented to Kuching Logistics and Services Division, while the KIWMP Leachate Wastewater Treatment Plant clinched the coveted ‘Best Overall Performanc­e in HSE Award’.

Sub- contractor­s Swee Cheng Constructi­on, Petrojadi Sdn Bhd and Toh Ah Kaw Contractor Sdn Bhd also received certificat­es of appreciati­on for their outstandin­g works and safe performanc­e throughout the past year.
