Dynasty Hotel donates RM10,000 to burn victim
MIRI: Efforts to help raise funds to help burn victim Serene Wong Hong Sien cover the cost of her treatment continues with a donation of RM10,000 from Dynasty Hotel here.
Acting general manager of Dynasty Hotel Ho Poh Chin, who handed over the donation to Wong, said that the donation was a contribution from the Dynasty Hotel Charity Fund.
“On yearly basis, Dynasty Hotel organises various charity activities and one of the most successful one is the Dynasty Run.
“This is a little gesture that we hope will help the young girl on her road to recovery,” Ho told reporters.
Piasau assemblyman Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew who witnessed the handing over said that he was thankful with the contributions from all walks of life.
“Currently, the donation received on behalf of Serene Wong has exceeded RM53,000 and in addition with the Dynasty Hotel’s donation, the total donation is over RM63,000 which is equivalent to a year’s cost of treatment for Wong.

Meanwhile, Wong’s tuition teacher Bong Kim Foon, who is also the coordinator of Ang Pow Collector Charity Fund, said that she has initiated the effort to raise funds among her ang pow collector friends to help Wong.
