MIRI: A 37-year- old woman lodged a police report claiming her boyfriend threatened and hurt her on Tuesday at her house in Krokop here.

The single mother claimed that around 10.15am, she had an argument with her boyfriend over money.

According to her, the suspect had asked for a large sum of money to pay for his car insurance and phone bills.

When the woman replied she did not have the money, the boyfriend allegedly hit her, leaving bruises on her arm, chest, and causing pain to her head.

It is also alleged that the boyfriend took out a knife and placed it against the victim’s neck while warning her not to be late in giving him money the next time or he would kill her.

Fearing for her safety, the woman decided to lodge the report. Police are investigating the case under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation and Section 323 of the same Code for voluntarily causing hurt.

In a separate case, a septuagenarian somehow slept soundly through the night on Monday while his house in Pujut 2 was broken into.

The man only realised he had been robbed around 5am on Tuesday.

Among the missing items were his wallet, which contained RM1,500 in cash and important documents. He later lodged a report at the Miri Central police station.
