DCM hopes MOE will build teaching hospital for Unimas

-

KOTA SAMARAHAN: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan hopes that the Ministry of Education (MOE) under the new government will build a teaching hospital for Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas).

He said Unimas has long wanted to have its own hospital like any other public university with a faculty of medicine.

“Before, perhaps the federal government was less concerned with Unimas’ efforts to have a university hospital. So we hope that with the present ministry under the leadership of Dr Maszlee (Malik), Unimas’ dream to own a university hospital can be realised.

“Sometimes, we feel annoyed when we learnt that a new university that just applied got the approval, and Unimas which has been longing until this day does not get the approval yet,” he added.
