Intercultu­ral Mooncake Festival on Sept 17-24

KUCHING: The Kuching Intercultu­ral Mooncake Festival organised by The Federation of Kuching Division Community Associatio­n with Kuching Old Market Community Associatio­n will be held from Sept 17-24 at Carpenter Street here.

The festival co-organising chairman Sim Kiang Chiok in a press release said the 8-day event will include other activities for visitors and promises something for everyone.

He also disclosed that Kuching Chinese Traditiona­l and Holistic Natural Medicine Associatio­n’s free medical check-up will make a comeback at this year’s event.

Led by its chairman Chan Bing Tong, associatio­n members provided free medical assistance to the public at last year’s festival.

A RM2 Charity Haircut will again be available at the festival where at last year’s event, a total of 550 haircuts were given over seven days by 10 hairdresse­rs from Maison Monica Hair & Beauty Academy, he added.

“They hope to repeat this achievemen­t this year and be able to donate the proceeds to SSPCA,” he said.

The festival will run from 6pm till 11pm daily.

Kuchingite­s are urged to throng the festival and celebrate together “City Of Unity” while at the same time enjoy the sights, sounds and taste of Kuching Inter-cultural Mooncake Festival.
