IEM Miri to hold digital treasure hunt
MIRI: The Institution of Engineers Malaysia ( IEM) Miri Branch is calling entries for its International Digital Treasure Hunt on October 28.
Chairman of IEM Miri Prof Dr Lau Hieng Ho said the treasure hunt is organised in conjunction with the institution’s 20th anniversary celebration this year.
“It is a team entry with a minimum of two members per team. Registration fee is at RM300 per vehicle.
“Upon registration, the participants will be entitled to a goody bag, T-shirts and medal.”
Lau said the event which will begin at 6.30am until 2pm is expected to receive some 100 participants.
“The Miri Civic Centre will be the starting point for the treasure hunt. It will be up to each team’s puzzle- solving and navigation skills to follow a series of witty clues placed at various points of interest fi nishing at the LT foyer in Curtin University Malaysia.
“The treasure hunt will be a fun event for friends and families and a great opportunity to get to know Miri and engage in unique digital experiences,” Lau said.
He described the treasure hunt as an educational and interactive fund game which is perfect for all ages.
“Various online tools, technology and mobile applications will be used to look for the treasures as well as utilising social media platforms to take this treasure hunt to another level of theatrical experience.”
On the prizes, he said the organiser has provided attractive cash prizes for the top three winners.
The champion team will receive RM3,000, fi rst runner-up RM2,000 and RM1,000 for the third place winner.
Registration for the event will close at the end of this month.
