Give chance to PH govt to continue reform agenda — Lembah Pantai MP

-

MIRI: Malaysians, PKR Sarawak members in particular, hope the new PH federal government will be given space and time to continue with its reform agenda to correct the mistakes and scandals of the previous BN government such as corruption and abuse of power.

Aspiring candidate for PKR Central Executive Council (CEC) in the upcoming party election, Ahmad Fahmi Mohamad Fadzil, said the people must give the PH government a chance to transform the country and work together for the betterment of the people.

“PKR members in Sarawak including all Malaysians must work together to support the present PH government that is trying to correct the fault of the previous government and bring development for the people,” Ahmad Fahmi said during his campaign trail to seek support from Sarawak here.

Present were PKR Sibuti Women chief Zulhaidah Suboh and other PKR leaders in northern Sarawak.

Ahmad Fahmi, 37, is a member of Parliament for Lembah Pantai. He said he joined the ‘Reformasi’ movement started by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in 1998 when he was just out of high school.

He formally joined PKR in 2010 when he became political secretary to Nurul Izzah Anwar who was then the member of Parliament for Lembah Pantai.

During the 14th general election, he contested the Lembah Pantai parliamentary seat while Nurul Izzah contested in Permatang Pauh.

In his first foray in the general election he defeated BN candidate Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin and won the Lembah Pantai seat.

On a related subject, Ahmad Fahmi called on PKR members in Sarawak to join forces and unite in overthrowing the GPS government during the 12th state election which will be held in about two years’ time.

Sarawak is one of the opposition states other than Perlis, Pahang, Terengganu and Kelantan.
