Health Dept bids farewell to outgoing family doctor

-

KAPIT: Health Department staff here held a farewell for outgoing Kapit Health Clinic family doctor Dr Jusoh Awang Senik on Monday.

Dr Jusoh, who started his term here in June 2015, has been transferred to Pasir Putih, Kelantan.

“I received the letter of transfer back to Peninsular Malaysia in late July. The feeling was hard to describe. My fi rst reaction was I felt sad because I wanted to stay a bit longer because I feel there are many things I could do here to promote health.

“To raise the level of awareness among the locals of the importance of living a healthy life through practising good health habits – active involvement in outdoor activities, proper diet, regular health screening, etc,” he said in his speech.

He described Kapit as a very conducive place to work.

“The fresh air, minus sound pollution and traffic jams, staff and colleagues are very friendly and cooperative. They display a high level of discipline and professionalism when called on duty to work on days off.

“This work ethic has earned my admiration. I hope this fine working culture will be maintained and practised now and into the future. After all, our core business as health workers is to promote health and to heal the sick,” he added.

During the same event, the department welcomed Dr Mohammad Faizal from Kelantan, who takes over from Dr Jusoh.
