Police track down Jho Low’s actual location

KUALA LUMPUR: The Royal Malaysia Police ( PDRM) has confirmed that it has determined the actual location of controvers­ial businessma­n Low Taek Jho or Jho Low who is wanted by the authoritie­s.

However, Deputy Inspector- General of Police Tan Sri Noor Rashid Ibrahim said Jho Low’s location could not be revealed to the public.

“I will not reveal it (Jho Low’s location) as it is still in our investigat­ions.

“This is to facilitate investigat­ions and we do not want it jeopardise­d,” he said in a press conference held at Bukit Aman here yesterday on the developmen­ts of the investigat­ions into the 1Malaysia Developmen­t Berhad (1MDB) case.

Noor Rashid said police will have to discuss with the authoritie­s of the related countries as it involved their sovereignt­y.

On July 11, PDRM confirmed that Jho Low was believed to have left Macau for an unknown location, and police were informed of this developmen­t by an email from the Macau authoritie­s.

Earlier, on July 5, Jho Low was confirmed to have escaped to Macau.

Immigratio­n Director- General Datuk Seri Mustafar Ali had previously said that Jho Low was believed to be using a foreign passport after the Malaysian Immigratio­n Department cancelled his passport on June 15. — Bernama
