Mayor commends hashers for promoting city’s tourism potential

KUCHING: Kuching South City Council ( MBKS) mayor Dato James Chan has commended organisers of the recent 2nd Asia Pacific Hash hosted by Kuching for promoting the city through the internatio­nal event.

More than 2,000 hashers, many of them from overseas, had participat­ed in the event held here from July 6- 8. It was organised by the Kuching City Hash Club ( KCHC).

to the world,” he told reporters after receiving a courtesy call from KCHC and Qionghai6 Hash delegation at his office here yesterday.

During the visit, Chan was informed by KCHC chairman Johnson Tan that the 3rd Asia Pacific Hash will be held in Hainan, China from May 15-17, 2020.

“I hope the next Hash Run in China will be a good one and I’m sure KCHC will go there and support the city,” he said.

Later, Chan witnessed the symbolic handing over of baton from Tan, who served as the 2nd Asia Pacific Hash organising chairman to Qionghai6 Hash which has been conferred the rights to host the biennial internatio­nal hash event.

Representi­ng Qionghai6H­ash was its grandmaste­r Fu Ming Lin.
