Toastmasters club installs new officers

KUCHING: Kuching Progressive Toastmasters Club held its installation dinner on Sept 8.

A press release yesterday said area D4 director Liew Shau Jin carried out the discharge of the outgoing club officers followed by the installation of club officers for the term 2018 to 2019.

She thanked outgoing club officers for their dedication in striving to bring the club to new heights.

Addressing incoming club officers, she shared on their collective challenge such as to help people from all walks of life to speak in an effective manner, listen with sensitivity, and think creatively.

Guest of honour Division D director Stanley Gona Chee Khiong commended the outgoing club officers under the leadership of president Voon Boon Han for a superb 2017 to 2018 term.

He also congratulated incoming club officers and expressed confidence that incoming club president Chia Hui Ling and her team members would work closely with each other under Liew’s guidance.

Other newly-installed club officers are Nicole Toh Gek King (vice-president education), Ambrose Lee (vice- president membership), Irisah Chin (vicepresident public relations), Ling Swee Ngo (secretary), Then Chen Foo (treasurer), and Vincent Chong Y Leong (sergeant at arms).

Kuching Progressive Toastmasters Club welcomes individuals who are keen to hone their Mandarin speaking and communication skills.
